Iran retaliation
The Iranian Army says it has launched fresh attacks on U.S. military assets in Bahrain's Sakhir air base with attack drones. Iran's Army said the operation was carried out with Arash drones as the eleventh phase of Operation Thunder. During the operation, hangars housing American helicopters and P-8 patrol and reconnaissance planes were hit. The army said the attacks came in response to the latest US strikes on Iranian civilian infrastructure and innocent people. The Iranian army warned that the country’s security and independence is its main red line, vowing a swift and decisive response to any enemy aggression. It stressed that any miscalculation regarding the determination and resilience of the Iranian nation, army, and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps will cost the arrogant enemy very dearly. The new attacks followed the tenth phase of Operation Thunder during which the US army’s radar systems, Patriot air defenses, and fuel depots were hit at a regional base.
US iran aggresion
The senior spokesman for the Iranian Armed Forces has warned that any attack on the country’s infrastructure will be answered with reciprocal strikes on all regional infrastructure. Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi was responding to the US president’s latest threats about hitting Iran's infrastructure. He asserted that any US attack on Iran's infrastructure would make regional infrastructure a legitimate target for Iranian forces. Shekarchi noted that either all regional countries would be able to export oil and use maritime routes, or no country would be able to do that. He said the US and the fake Zionist regime have no right to be in this region, because they have plundered regional countries for years and created insecurity. Shekarchi stated that Iran's control of the Hormuz Strait brings security to the entire region, and the country will never give up its control of the strategic waterway. He stressed that the Hormuz Strait will never go back to its pre-war situation and the United States has no right to interfere in its affairs.
'No US prisoner released'
An investigation carried out by Press TV has found no evidence to support the US president’s recent claim about Iran having released an American prisoner. The investigation also revealed that no spy has been released by Iran in recent days. The denial came after Donald Trump announced in an early Thursday post on Truth social media that an American citizen detained in Iran has been released. Trump said the American, whom he claimed was arrested during Joe Biden administration in 2024, has been freed, thanking Iran for the gesture, while also insulting his predecessor. Trump has a history of being misled by false sources. Examples to the point include his claim about the imminent execution of eight female prisoners following the January 2026 riots in Iran, and his report of a young man's execution in Karaj. Iran's Judiciary had previously dismissed Trump's claims regarding the execution of eight women, stating that Trump was "misled once again by fake news."
