Bahraini protesters slam Al Khalifah regime’s crackdown on Shia citizens

Bahrainis protesters denounce the Al Khalifah regime for intensifying crackdown on Shia citizens following the illegal US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran.

Bahrainis hold nationwide protests to express anger over the Al Khalifah regime’s intensified crackdown on Shia citizens.

The demonstrations took place in Sitra, Bilad al-Qadeem, Maqabah, Sanabis, Abu Saiba, and Bani Jamra on Saturday night, with the participants condemning the suppression of Shia ceremonies and the arrest of Shia clerics by the regime forces.

The protesters chanted slogans in solidarity with the detained clerics, calling for an end to the persecution of Shias in the Persian Gulf Arab country.

Meanwhile, the news channel affiliated to February 14 Youth Coalition, a Bahraini opposition group, reported clashes between demonstrators and the ruling regime forces in Sitra.

Recently, Bahraini forces have conducted various raids across the country, arresting and transferring a number of prominent Shia clerics to unknown locations without providing judicial warrants or clarifying charges.

Earlier this month, Bahrain's Interior Ministry said it had ‌arrested 41 people allegedly linked to Iran.

Last month, Bahraini authorities revoked the citizenship of 69 Bahraini nationals, including clerics, eulogists, social activists, women, men, and even children and infants, in an arbitrary act in violation of human rights principles.

Bahrain's Interior Ministry accused the individuals of “expressing support for Iran (retaliatory) attacks” against American and Israeli military assets across West Asia.

Bahrain, home to the US Fifth Naval Fleet, allowed the United States and the Israeli regime to use its soil and airspace to launch anti-Iran attacks during the war of aggression that began on February 28 against Iran and stopped on April 8 under a Pakistan-brokered ceasefire.
