Yemen retaliatory operations

The Yemeni army has vowed to impose a comprehensive air blockade on Israel by constantly targeting the regime’s airports, especially Ben Gurion Airport. Saree stated that the plan comes in response to Israel's decision to expand its aggression against Gaza. He emphasized that a free and independent Yemen would not accept the Israeli enemy’s continued violations against Arab nations such as Lebanon and Syria. Saree reaffirmed Yemen's rejection of submission and subservience, declaring that the country does not fear confrontation. His latest remarks came after, earlier on Sunday, Yemen launched a major ballistic missile strike targeting Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport. It disrupted the airport’s operations and prompted many international airlines to cancel their flights to and from Israeli airports.

Rejecting ant-Iran claims

Iran has strongly rejected baseless allegations about having a role in the Yemeni army’s anti-Israel and anti-US operations in defense of the Arab country and the Palestinian people. The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that attributing the Yemeni nation’s courageous measures to Iran is an insult to this powerful and yet oppressed nation. It said the Yemeni people’s decision to support Palestinians is an independent decision which is rooted in their humanitarian and Islamic solidarity with the people of Palestine. The ministry stressed that it is the US military that is committing war crimes by attacking Yemen’s people and civilian infrastructure in support of the Zionist regime’s genocide in Gaza. The statement said attributing Yemen’s operations to Iran is aimed at deflecting attention from the Zionist regime’s crimes in Palestine and an excuse to sow insecurity in the West Asia region. The ministry also condemned the recent threats posed to Iran by the US and Israel, holding the American government and the terrorist Zionist regime responsible for their consequences.

Gaza humanitarian crisis

The World Health Organization has warned that the humanitarian health situation in Gaza is on the brink of total collapse. The world body described Gaza’s conditions as catastrophic due to Israel’s continued ban on entry of medical aid. The WHO spokesperson said Gazans are very close to the edge of the abyss, as a result of the Israeli siege on the territory’s healthcare system. Margaret Harris said Palestinians in Gaza are deprived of necessities, including food, clean water, shelter, and medical care. She noted that hospitals are receiving patients with a variety of trauma-related injuries, including open wounds and bone fractures, all highly susceptible to infection. The official noted that daily bombardments have intensified the influx of casualties, overwhelming a health system already pushed beyond its limits. Harris warned that overcrowded living conditions, widespread malnutrition, and a lack of clean water have led to a surge in communicable diseases. There are currently 21 hospitals and four field facilities operating in Gaza, but none have adequate bed capacity to meet the needs.
