Gaza ceasefire efforts
The Hamas resistance movement says it is studying a Gaza ceasefire proposal received from mediators, and will respond to it as soon as possible. The movement reiterated that any agreement must include a permanent ceasefire, and complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. Hamas also demanded a genuine prisoner exchange deal and the reconstruction of the territory. The statement came after a senior Hamas official said the movement is open to all offers that would end the suffering of the Palestinian people. Sami Abu Zuhri also slammed Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s efforts to sabotage the ceasefire. He said Netanyahu is setting impossible conditions to sabotage any agreement. Abu Zuhri also warned that the regime has crossed a red line by demanding resistance fighters disarm, stressing that the resistance's weapons are a red line and non-negotiable. He said Netanyahu is acting in his own political interest, adding that US President Donald Trump is his partner in killing the people of Gaza.
Gaza humanitarian situation
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has sounded a serious alarm about Gaza’s humanitarian crisis, as the Israeli regime maintains its total ban on entry of aid into the besieged territory. According to the UN humanitarian office, no supplies have reached Gaza for a month and a half. It warned that the humanitarian situation in the territory is now the worst it has been in the 18 months since the outbreak of the Israeli onslaught. OCHA added that the people of Gaza are facing critical shortages of medical supplies, fuel, water and other essentials. It noted that due to the closure of Gaza’s crossings by Israel, aid workers have been forced to ration dwindling supplies, and reduce deliveries to make the most of the remaining stocks. Israel resumed its genocidal war on Gaza on March 18, after a two-month ceasefire with Hamas collapsed. Since then, the regime has displaced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and imposed a total ban on aid delivery from March 2.
Israel crimes in West Bank
Israeli forces press ahead with their violent incursions across the occupied West Bank, killing at least one Palestinian youth in their latest raid. 19-year-old Malek Ali al-Hattab succumbed to critical wounds he sustained after being shot by Israeli forces’ live fire in Jalazone refugee camp, north of Ramallah. Two other young Palestinians were injured in the attack. Israeli forces also raided areas near the Tulkarm refugee camp, clashing with Palestinian resistance fighters. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers, backed by the regime’s forces, attacked Palestinian civilians in a number of areas, including Ariha, also known as Jericho, the northern Jordan valley, Ein al-Auja and a Bedouin village. They damaged Palestinian homes and vehicles during their attacks. Violent raids by Israeli soldiers and settlers have significantly increased across the West Bank since the Gaza genocide began in 2023.
