US-Israeli Gaza genocide
The Israeli military presses ahead with its air and artillery strikes across the Gaza Strip, killing and injuring more Palestinian civilians in its latest round of attacks. A massacre was reported in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, where an Israeli airstrike on a residential building killed at least four people, including a child who was beheaded. In northern Gaza, two Palestinians were killed and several injured by Israeli artillery shelling in Jabalia. On the ground, Israeli forces are advancing into two neighborhoods in Rafah, while also opening fire near homes in the Shujayea suburb, east of Gaza City. The death toll from the regime's genocide since October 2023 has crossed a staggering 50,600.
UK-Israel tensions
The UK has lashed out at Israel over detaining and denying entry to two British parliamentarians on a visit to the occupied Palestinian territories. In a statement, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy condemned Israel’s treatment of the two labor party MPs as Unacceptable. He slammed the regime’s "deeply concerning and counterproductive measure." On Saturday, Israel refused entry to Yuan Yang and Abtisam Mohamed who were on a visit to witness firsthand the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory. The Israeli regime claims they were planning to document the activities of security forces and spread anti-Israel hatred. The two MPs have dismissed these accusations by Israel as false claims. The two lawmakers were actively involved in promoting sanctions against Israeli ministers, and supported campaigns aimed at boycotting Israeli products in recent months.
Response to US threats
Iran's armed forces chief of staff reveals more details regarding Tehran's response to a letter sent from US President Donald Trump, reaffirming the nation's commitment to peace while standing ready to counter any threats. Major General Mohammad Bagheri said Tehran does not seek nuclear weapons but focuses on fulfilling its people's needs through nuclear capabilities. Meanwhile, Iran’s foreign minister rejected direct negotiations with the US after Donald Trump claimed Tehran wanted direct talks with Washington. Abbas Araghchi said any direct negotiation would be meaningless when the other party constantly threatens to use force, in violation of the UN charter. He also said no negotiations have been held so far between the Trump administration and Tehran.
