The Health Ministry in Gaza says Israeli strikes have killed at least 43 Palestinian people in the besieged territory in the past 24 hours.

In a statement on Friday, the ministry said 115 injured people were also admitted to hospitals in Gaza in the past 24 hours.

Since dawn on Friday, Israel has intensified its air and artillery strikes on several areas across Gaza, including Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun in the north, and Gaza City, as well as Abasan al-Kabira, Bani Suheila and Rafah City in the south.

The latest casualties bring to 896 the number of people killed since Israel resumed the war on Gaza earlier this month. The renewed strikes also left 1,984 injured.

Since March 18, the regime has launched strikes on Gaza, breaking the ceasefire and prisoner-captive exchange agreement that had lasted nearly two months.

The Israeli regime was forced to agree to a ceasefire deal with Hamas last January, given the regime’s failure to achieve any of its objectives, including the “elimination” of the Palestinian resistance movement or the release of captives.

The 42-day first stage of the truce, which was marred by repeated Israeli violations, expired on March 1, but Israel is refraining from stepping into talks for the second stage of the agreement.

Israel launched the campaign of genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023.

The regime has massacred over 50,200 Palestinians and injured at least 114,000 others since, according to the health ministry.
