US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
More Palestinian civilians fall victim to Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, as the regime continues to pound the blockaded territory with air and artillery strikes. The regime’s latest airstrike killed seven civilians, including five children, east of Jabalia in northern Gaza. Earlier, at least two Palestinian civilians were killed, and two others injured after Israeli warplanes bombed a vehicle in the al-Zahour neighborhood, near the southern city of Rafah. Also in Rafah, a Palestinian child succumbed to wounds she sustained after being shot by Israeli forces. Several Palestinians were also killed in repeated Israeli attacks on the Al-Mawasi area, near the southern city of Khan Yunis. In central Gaza, an Israeli strike killed a former Palestinian prisoner, Jabr Ammar, in the Al-Bureij refugee camp. According to the Health Ministry, over 60 Palestinians were killed and nearly three-hundred-60 injured in Tuesday's strikes. The new fatalities bring the death toll from Israel’s renewed aggression on Gaza since March the 18th to nearly eight-hundred. The overall death toll from the regime’s genocide since October 20-23 now stands at over 50,140, with more than 113,700 injured.
Turkey political turmoil
In Turkey, demonstrations against the detention of former Istanbul mayor, Ekrem Imamoglu, continue unabated, as thousands return to the city’s streets. Thousands of university students flooded a major district in Istanbul, heading for the municipal headquarters. They demanded the resignation of the government while waving flags and banners. People in nearby buildings bashed pots to show their solidarity with protesters. The new demonstration came after a court in Istanbul jailed seven journalists for covering the protests. Separately, thousands also rallied for the eighth straight night in a protest organized by Imamoglu's Republican People's Party, or the CHP. The leader of the opposition party has called for mass rallies over the weekend, to protest the arrest of Imamoglu, demand open trials, and call for early elections. The call for the Saturday rally comes as almost 1,500 people have already been arrested. Imamoglu, a politician from the CHP, was seen as the main rival to the incumbent Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for the next presidential election slated for 2028.
Iran military might
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has unveiled another underground facility housing hundreds of domestically built precision-strike missiles. According to the IRGC, the new underground facility is among hundreds of missile cities built across Iranian territory by its Aerospace Division. The facility houses various types of precision-strike ballistic and cruise missiles, including “Kheibar-Shekan”, “Emad”, “Sejjil”, and “Qadr H”. The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Baqeri, paid a visit to the facility along with the commander of the IRGC's Aerospace Division, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh. He described the facility as evidence of the Armed Forces' determination to continue to grow, advance, and enhance their capabilities. The new facility was unveiled less than a week after the IRGC revealed three underground hangars on three Iranian islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa, in the Persian Gulf. They also house advanced cruise missiles capable of striking naval targets at a distance of up to six-hundred kilometers from their base.
