The United States has carried out new airstrikes on Yemen in support of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza.
The Al-Masirah television network reported that the US strikes hit the capital, Sana’a, on Wednesday.
The attacks targeted a residential area in the al-Thawra district in the capital, damaging a number of homes and injuring seven women and two children.
The areas surrounding Sa’ada City as well as the Sawadiyah district in al-Bayda province were also hit by the strikes, according to the channel’s reporter.
No immediate details on possible casualties are available.
On March 15, US President Donald Trump issued an executive order that mandated the deployment of “overwhelming lethal force” against the already impoverished nation.
The move came after Yemen reinstated a ban on Israeli ships crossing key maritime regions.
Subsequently, US warplanes conducted extensive raids against purely civilian targets throughout Yemen, claiming the lives of scores of non-combatants.
However, Yahya Saree, the spokesman for Yemen’s armed forces, underscored that “the American aggression will not deter Yemen from fulfilling its religious, moral, and humanitarian duties towards the Palestinian people.”
Saree confirmed the intensification of their retaliatory operations against Israeli targets until the war on Gaza ends.
Israel carried out fresh airstrikes on Gaza early Tuesday, killing more than 400 Palestinian people in one of the biggest single-day tolls since the start of Israel’s genocidal campaign in October 2023.
Gaza's health ministry said on Wednesday that the rendered offensive had killed at least 970 people over the past 48 hours.
The attacks shattered a ceasefire agreement that lasted nearly two months.
