Hundreds of Gazans killed
More deaths and destruction in Gaza as the Israeli military strikes different parts of the blockaded territory in a renewed offensive. According to the Gaza Health ministry, 970 Palestinians have been killed in a matter of 48 hours. One UN international worker has been killed and five have been wounded in a strike on their headquarters in central Gaza. Three more Palestinians were reportedly killed in an attack on the Tuffah neighborhood. This brings the Palestinian fatalities during the Israeli genocide since October 7th, 2023 to 49,547. More than 112,000 people have also been wounded.
"Hamas still open to talks"
The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas reiterates that there is no need for a new Gaza ceasefire agreement with Israel, as the existing deal has been signed by all parties. Senior Hamas official Taher al-Nunu said the Palestinian group, however, has not shut the door on negotiations. He stressed that the Tel Aviv regime must be forced to abide by the existing ceasefire deal. Nunu demanded that Israel be compelled to immediately halt its aggression and begin the second phase of negotiations. The first phase of the Gaza ceasefire ended on March first. The talks for the next stage made no progress. As Israel resumed the war on Gaza, Hamas called for global solidarity with Gaza, urging condemnation of Israel's renewed and catastrophic war on the besieged territory.
Solidarity with Gaza
Thousands of pro-Palestine protesters have rallied in the Turkish capital, Ankara, to condemn the resumption of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip. The demonstrators slammed Israel for breaching the ceasefire agreement and its continued military actions in Gaza. Thousands of demonstrators also gathered in the Turkish city of Istanbul to show solidarity with Palestinians and denounce the regime’s brutalities in Gaza. Protesters, waving Turkish and Palestinian flags, called for urgent international intervention to end the violence. Meanwhile, in Morocco, thousands rallied against the normalization of ties with Israel, carrying banners reading "No to normalization" and "Freedom for Palestine." The Chilean capital was also the scene of a pro-Palestine rally.
