Israel war on Gaza

Hamas says Israel’s intensification of the siege of Gaza and preventing the entry of aid are parts of the regime’s genocidal war on the Palestinian territory. Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif al-Qanou said Israel’s policy of starving Gazans is a blatant violation of International law and amounts to a war crime. Al-Qanou added, the world must stop Israel from continuing the starvation policy and that the perpetrators must be put on trial. The Hamas official called on the International community and human rights institutions to force Israel to open Gaza crossings and allow humanitarian aid, including food and medical supplies, to enter Gaza.

Syria situation

In Syria, the provincial governor of Tartus says they have extended the curfew in the Western province. This comes amid fighting between HTS forces and armed groups against the Syrian regime. Reports coming from Syria also say fresh fighting erupted in Latakia in the morning today. Clashes in Syria’s western regions have killed dozens so far. The fighting comes as people have held mass rallies in protest at the regime’s increasing violence against civilians. They criticized the Syrian regime of prioritizing power over rebuilding the nation. On Thursday, curfews were declared in Tartus and the entire Homs region, among other areas.

US-China tariffs tensions

The Chinese Foreign Minister has slammed US tariffs on his country, warning that a "law of the jungle" could take hold in the world if countries only pursue their own interests. Wang Yi cautioned that if Washington uses pressure against Beijing, it should expect counter measures. He added that China will retaliate for the US arbitrary tariffs. The warning comes as the US, under Trump’s administration, has imposed tariffs of at least 20% on all Chinese imports. The Chinese foreign minister was speaking on the sidelines of the country’s annual parliamentary session in Beijing. He also referred to Gaza, calling for a lasting ceasefire in the Palestinian territory.
