Hailing Cairo summit
Hamas has welcomed a reconstruction plan for Gaza that was adopted at the emergency Arab summit, saying all necessary measures must be taken to ensure its success. The movement affirmed its full commitment to any step that would serve the interests of Palestinian people by removing the effects of the Israeli aggression. Hamas also backed the summit’s call for political and economic boycott of Israel as an effective step to force the regime to comply with international and humanitarian laws. It appreciated the rejection of US-Israeli plans for the displacement of Palestinian people, and Israel’s annexation and resettlement projects. Hamas hailed the summit’s call for the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, saying it will mount pressure on Israel to stop altering or obstructing the agreement.
Israel violating Gaza truce
Israel's violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement continue unabated, as the regime’s forces kill more civilians and obstruct entry of humanitarian aid. Israeli troops killed at least one civilian in the central city of Deir al-Balah, while injuring eleven others. They also killed two Palestinians in the southern city of Rafah, while injuring three others in Khan Yunis. Earlier, rescue teams exhumed nearly forty bodies from a mass grave in northern Gaza, which belonged to Palestinians killed in Israel’s genocidal war. Eight new bodies were also recovered from the rubble. The death toll from the regime’s aggression now tops 48,400, with more than 111,800 others injured. Israeli forces also continued to prevent ambulances from transporting the wounded and sick out of Gaza for treatment. They kept the Karam Abu Salem border crossing closed for the third consecutive day, blocking entry of food, medicine, and fuel to Gaza.
Yemen downs US drone
The Yemeni armed forces say they have successfully downed another American MQ-9 aircraft that violated the country’s airspace. According to Yemen’s army, the downed MQ-9 drone was conducting surveillance missions over Al-Hudaydah Governorate. It added that this is the fifteenth American aircraft shot down over the country’s airspace. The Yemeni army vowed it will continue to repel any act of aggression, including in the Red and Arabian seas. It said downing of the US drone was part of Yemen’s operations in support of resistance fighters in Gaza and Lebanon. Yemen has been a staunch supporter of Palestinian and Lebanese resistance groups since the start of Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza. It has launched dozens of ballistic missiles and drones at Israeli military targets, causing significant casualties among the regime’s forces.
