Blocking aid to Gaza
Israeli forces have killed at least 4 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip after the regime refused to proceed to phase two of a previously outlined ceasefire process. Another 6 Palestinians were also wounded by Israeli gunfire in the cities of Beit Hanoun, Rafah and Khan Yunis. Israel also suspended the entry of humanitarian supplies into Gaza in order to pressure Hamas into accepting a change in the ceasefire agreement. The Palestinian resistance movement slammed the ban as “cheap blackmail” and a “coup” against the ceasefire deal. Israel wants to extend phase one of the ceasefire and secure the release of its captives in Gaza without pulling out its troops from the strip as required in the second stage. Hamas says the regime bears responsibility for the fate of the captives.
Gaza ceasefire deal
The Islamic Jihad, has also slammed Israel for what it called sabotaging the ceasefire in Gaza. The Palestinian resistance movement said the regime bears responsibility for the consequences of sabotaging the ceasefire. The Islamic Jihad also reaffirmed its own and other resistance factions’ commitment to the ceasefire based on the three phases. It vowed to abide by what has been agreed upon.
Talks on Ukraine war
Leaders from Europe and Canada are in London to discuss Ukraine’s future, two days after a blowout between Kiev and Washington. The British prime minister said the UK and France will take the lead in the summit to draft a proposed ceasefire plan with Ukraine, to be presented to US President Donald Trump. Keir Starmer said they will talk about stepping up aid delivery to Ukraine before any peace talks begin. He added that European leaders will be also urging Zelensky to rebuild bridges with Trump. On Saturday, Starmer welcomed volodymyr Zelensky, the day after the Ukrainian president was kicked out of the White House. London also signed a 2.8-billion-dollar loan deal to bolster Ukraine’s military against Russia.
