Gaza ceasefire deal
The Hamas resistance movement says it has received new guarantees for the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement by Israel. A spokesman for the group said Hamas will try implementing the agreement without any changes despite pressures. Hazem Qasim reiterated the group’s commitment to the implementation of all steps of the ceasefire in accordance with the established schedules. Qasim said Israel continues the policy of procrastination. He said the mediators in Qatar and Egypt are in contact with the US government to implement the humanitarian protocol. Earlier, Hamas released the names of three more Israeli captives set to be freed on Saturday as part of the sixth round of exchanges under the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal. On the other hand, the Israeli regime is expected to release nearly 370 Palestinian prisoners.
Trump's Gaza plan
Members of the Arab Group at the UN say they reject the notion that Palestinians should be relocated from Gaza into Jordan and Egypt. Al-Banai said the Arab group wants the Gaza Strip as part of an independent and internationally recognized State of Palestine. He also called on the Security Council to put an end to Israeli aggression on Gaza. Al-Banai also pointed to what he described as alarming Israeli aggression in the occupied West Bank, calling for an immediate halt to the ongoing violations. Also during the press conference, the Palestinian Ambassador to the United Nations said Gazans have no other homeland than Palestine.
Israel's West Bank atrocities
The Israeli military and settlers have conducted another spate of attacks across the occupied West Bank, killing at least two Palestinians and injuring over a dozen others. The fatalities are reported from clashes between resistance fighters and Israeli troopers at Nour Shams refugee camp in eastern Tulkarm. According to the Palestinian health ministry, three other Palestinians were also killed in the fighting at the refugee camp on Wednesday. Meanwhile, sixteen Palestinians sustained injuries in a brutal attack by settlers on a village near Bethlehem. At least six of them were treated for fractures. The occupied West Bank has been witnessing intensified Israeli raids since January 21, 2025.
