An international human rights organization says Israel continues to perpetrate the crime of genocide in Gaza by denying Palestinians the basic necessities for survival and imposing miserable living conditions on them despite a ceasefire agreement with the Hamas resistance movement.

The Euro-Med for Human Rights said in a statement on Friday that Israel was not content with the mass killings and devastation it caused in the Gaza Strip over a period of more than 15 months.

It added that the occupying regime is now implementing policies that effectively kill the population by enforcing a complete illegal siege that hinders the flow of basic supplies and humanitarian aid, preventing the repair of essential infrastructure, and denying the provision of basic services that are essential to the population’s survival.

“Israel is well aware of the terrible impact that its unlawful actions have had on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, as well as the grave and protracted repercussions that these actions entail, particularly for marginalized communities and those with challenging medical conditions.

“Nevertheless, in the absence of any meaningful international pressure to halt its ongoing crimes against the Palestinians, these measures are still being implemented without any reversals,” the statement read.

Euro-Med noted that even though mass murders in the Gaza Strip have stopped in the aftermath of the ceasefire agreement, Israeli occupation forces still carry out direct killings of Palestinians under a number of flimsy excuses that have no legal basis.

The human rights organization finally urged the international community and the United Nations to act quickly to hold Israel responsible for its ongoing crimes against the Palestinians.

Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza has resulted in the death of at least 47,583 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injury of 111,633 others since early October 2023.

A ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement went into effect in Gaza on January 19, halting Israel’s aggressive campaign against the coastal region.

Since the beginning of Israel’s onslaught against Gaza in October 2023, at least 905 Palestinians have been killed across the occupied West Bank in attacks by Israeli forces and settlers.
