Gaza ceasefire

The Gaza ceasefire between Hamas and Israel took effect after a nearly 30-hour delay, followed by celebrations across the Gaza Strip. UN chief Antonio Guterres said the ceasefire must remove “significant” obstacles to delivering aid to the Palestinians. According to the agreement, Israel will release 90 Palestinian abductees in exchange for three captives held in Gaza.

This episode of Spotlight, hosting Charlotte Kates from Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network in Vancouver and Ali Rizk, writer and political analyst from Beirut, looks closer at the significance of the ceasefire and possibilities for its sustainability.
