US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
It’s another deadly day for Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip as the Israeli military continues to pound the blockaded territory with more attacks. In one of the deadliest strikes, more than 20 Palestinians were killed and some 30 others injured after Israeli warplanes bombed a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. Israeli airstrikes also targeted several other areas across the territory including the al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, Beit Lahia in the north and the southern city of Rafah. Meanwhile, a video has circulated online, showing Israeli soldiers firing on an ambulance in front of the Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza. More than 44,600 Palestinians have so far been killed and nearly 106,000 others injured since the regime’s onslaught began last October.
Crisis in Syria
The Syrian army has launched fresh air and artillery strikes targeting armed opposition groups in the cities of Hama and Homs. Syria’s Defense Ministry announced that recent army attacks targeted the strongholds and supply routes of armed groups, resulting in casualties among them. The ministry added that joint Russian-Syrian airstrikes northeast of Homs destroyed opposition vehicles and killed dozens of their fighters. According to the ministry, around 2,500 opposition fighters have so far been killed in battles over the past week. Meanwhile, the Syrian army announced the redeployment of troops to the governorates of Dera’a and Sweida to counter attacks by armed groups seeking to halt the army's advances into opposition-controlled areas.
South Korea political turmoil
Thousands of protesters have marched through the streets of South Korea's capital calling for President Yoon Suk Yeol to resign over his botched martial law declaration. Along with the marches on the streets, a large number of demonstrators were also outside the country’s National Assembly in Seoul, where lawmakers introduced a bill to impeach President Yoon. However, with only one member from the president’s party present, there weren’t enough lawmakers to pass the bill. A rival protest has also taken place in downtown Seoul where thousands of President Yoon’s supporters denounced the country’s opposition party over their push to impeach the president. Yoon declared martial law late on Tuesday before being forced into a U-turn after lawmakers voted to overturn the measure. He has since apologized, expressing his regret over enforcing the martial law.
