Iran's nuclear program

Iran’s president has once again stressed his country’s firm opposition with production of nuclear arms globally. Masoud Pezeshkian made the remarks in a meeting with the director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, in Tehran. Pezeshkian said Tehran has never pursued production of nuclear weapons and the leader of the Islamic revolution has issued a religious edict against such weapons. He said the world has acknowledged that Iran is after peace and security for the whole world. Pezeshkian emphasized Tehran’s readiness for cooperation with the IAEA to settle the differences with the agency. Grossi for his part hailed the Islamic republic’s cooperation with the IAEA. Iran has repeatedly said it is ready to work with the UN agency to resolve any ambiguities regarding its nuclear program but will not accept any pressure or intimidation.

More than 103,000 others are injured.

Israel aggression on Syria

At least fifteen people have been killed and many more injured following Israeli airstrikes on suburbs of the Syrian capital. According to the Syrian media the air raids hit two residential buildings in western parts of Damascus. The Syrian Ministry of Defense said the aggression was launched from the occupied Golan Heights. The Israeli Army radio has also confirmed the attack. The regime claims it has targeted the headquarters of Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement. Israel has been carrying out repeated airstrikes on Syria since 2013. These attacks have claimed many civilian lives and caused huge damage to civilian infrastructure. The Israeli strikes on Syria have increased significantly after the regime’s genocidal onslaught on the Gaza Strip.
