Extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit
Arab and Muslim leaders have strongly condemned the horrific and shocking crimes committed by Israel during its onslaught on the Gaza Strip as the crime of genocide. The condemnation came through the final statement of the extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The leaders said the Israeli regime has committed a wide range of crimes, including mass burial of victims, torture, field executions, enforced disappearance, and ethnic cleansing. They also condemned Israel’s policy of collective punishment and the use of siege and starvation as a weapon against civilians in Gaza. The leaders called on the UN Security Council to conduct an independent investigation into Israel’s crimes, and hold their perpetrators accountable. They stressed that Israel must withdraw from the occupied territories, including the occupied East Al-Quds, reaffirming Palestinians’ sovereignty over the city. The leaders also called for a ban on the export of weapons to Israel, urging all countries to stop sending arms and ammunition to the regime.
US-Israeli Gaza genocide
More Palestinians are massacred in Gaza, as the Israeli regime presses ahead with its indiscriminate attacks across the blockaded territory. At least ten civilians were killed and many others injured after an Israeli strike hit a tent housing displaced people west of the southern city of Khan Yunis. The tent was targeted when displaced Gazans had gathered to access the internet. In Gaza City, several civilians were killed after a commercial store was bombed by Israeli forces. Fve people were killed in an airstrike on a building in the Al-Nuseirat camp, raising the overall fatalities from Israel’s intense shelling of the camp to at least 16. Israeli forces also continued complete siege of northern Gaza, especially the Jabaliya refugee camp, for the 38th consecutive day, starving civilians trapped there amid violent air and artillery strikes. The regime’s genocide has claimed the lives of over 43,600 Palestinians so far, leaving nearly 103,000 others injured.
Israel occupation policies
Palestinian resistance movements have condemned in the strongest terms the remarks made by an Israeli far-right minister about the annexation of the occupied West Bank. Hamas said the remarks made by Bezalel Smotrich confirm the colonial intentions of the Israeli regime and its denial of Palestinian people's national rights. The group stressed that the West Bank is purely Palestinian and an integral part of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital. Hamas said Israel’s war crimes do not grant it legitimacy over the occupied lands. It also urged Muslim countries and the United Nations to stop Israel’s illegal policies that only escalate tensions at regional and international levels. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad, for its part, said Smotrich’s remarks were part of Israel’s open war against Palestinian people. It added that Israel’s’ final goal is to control Palestinians’ land and expel as many Palestinians as possible.
