Israeli forces have killed a Palestinian man during a raid in the West Bank, as tensions continue to escalate in the occupied territory.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that the victim, identified as 25-year-old Adham Zayed Ezzat Masri, was killed after Israeli troops surrounded his family home in the town of Aqaba in Tubas, in the occupied West Bank, on Saturday.

The body of the Palestinian man is still being held by Israeli forces, the ministry said.

Palestine’s Wafa news agency, citing local sources, also reported that a 50-year-old Palestinian man was injured when a live bullet fired by Israeli forces hit his chest and was transferred to hospital in critical condition.

According to the sources, a 49-year-old Palestinian also suffered bruises after Israeli forces stormed the town.

The sources also noted that Israeli forces sent military reinforcements to Aqaba to surround several homes and carry out arrests, adding that armed confrontations broke out inside the town.

Kamal Bani Odeh, the director of the Palestinian Prisoners Society in Tubas, said Israeli forces arrested two other men during the raid.

Meanwhile, the Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) also reported that Israeli forces have detained at least 18 Palestinians in violent raids across the West Bank since Friday.

The Israeli regime forces have intensified brutal attacks on the Palestinians in the West Bank since the regime launched the campaign of genocide in the Gaza Strip in October 2023.

Israeli forces have killed some 770 Palestinians and abducted at least 11,500 more in the occupied territory.

At least 43,500 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have also been killed in the Israeli genocidal war against the Gaza Strip over the past 13 months.
