The newly appointed leader of Hezbollah says the Lebanese resistance movement is determined to force Israel to seek an end to its war on Lebanon, stating that only the battlefield can bring to end the ongoing war.
In his second public address since assuming leadership on Wednesday, Sheikh Naim Qassem said that there is no place within "Israel" that our drones and missiles cannot reach.
He added that Hezbollah did not rely on political efforts to halt the conflict.
“We do not rely on American elections, whether Harris succeeds or Trump wins; this has no value for us.”
Instead, he said, Hezbollah is prepared to shape the outcome through military engagement.
Qassem also stated that Hezbollah has been preparing for such confrontations since the 2006 July war, enhancing its training, armament, and operational capabilities.
“Through resistance, strength, preparedness, and endurance, we will triumph over Israel,” he declared. “In our lexicon, there is only patience, endurance, and remaining on the field until victory.”
He said the steps taken by Israel aimed at defeating Hezbollah and occupying Lebanon will not succeed due to Hezbollah's resilience and commitment to defending its homeland.
“We will make the Israeli enemy fully aware that on the battlefield it is losing and not winning; this loss will prevent it from achieving its goals.”
The Lebanese leader said Israel aims to eliminate Hezbollah's presence and then occupy Lebanon, be it from a distance in the air. The regime, he said, is threatening to make Lebanon another West Bank.
Sheikh Qassem said the regime’s third step would be to work on a map of West Asia.
“These steps were desired by Netanyahu, who began his war on Lebanon to achieve the first step.”
‘Israeli army unable to advance’
Hezbollah’s secretary-general said the regime has now become confused by significant Resistance operations.
“The Israeli enemy has found that the level of confrontation has been very high; hence it fears engagement and has … announced it has no additional targets because it faced strong resistance.”
The regime, Qassem stated, did not realize it was facing resistant fighters who hold a solid Islamic conviction, making them stand firm with truth and steadfastness towards liberation and dignity.
“On the borders, we have tens of thousands of trained Resistant fighters who can confront and endure.”
Sheikh Qassem said the fighters have dedicated their lives to God; they do not seek worldly gains but understand that their success in the world before the Hereafter lies in resisting the occupation.
He said the strength of the Resistance lies in its will and continuity despite disparities in military capabilities.
‘Talks happen when aggression stops’
“The days are coming; past days were a model, and what is going to come will be even more significant,” Sheikh Qassem said.
He said when the enemy stops its aggression, there is a path for negotiations through the Lebanese government and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, who carries the banner of political resistance.
“The foundation of any negotiation is based on two things: first, stopping the aggression; second, ensuring the full protection of Lebanese sovereignty without compromise.”
‘Nasrallah a role model’
In his remarks, Sheikh Qassem paid tribute to the late leader of the movement Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, calling him a model for noble leaders who have walked in God’s path and made great sacrifices.
He noted that Nasrallah resides in the hearts of people across the world as a symbol of Resistance.
“Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is an exemplary leader—an inspiring educator who is courageous and bold; a scholar in the school of Velayat and a banner for Palestinian liberation.”
“The light in his words guides us; his positions put us on the path to a dignified life,” he stated.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, he said, defined Nasrallah as “unparalleled—this is a great definition.”
Sheikh Qassem said Nasrallah built a resilient party encompassing all segments of society—it is a party for young and old, women and men, free people and resistors.
Hezbollah resists against the Israeli enemy while working to help develop the nation within its political reality, he said.
“The resistance in this party is a solid foundation in terms of numbers, strength, specialization, faith, courage, and defiance against even the fiercest enemies,” he said.
“Hezbollah has an organized structure extending across all fields—cultural, political, jihadist, social, educational, and medical; this party has built itself to work effectively,” Qassem stated, referring to the concept of “Jihad” or struggle.
Sheikh Qassem concluded by stating that Nasrallah revived the movement both in life and martyrdom, asserting that his soul and blood continue to bolster the cause.
