Israel in crisis

Israelis have held the biggest ever protest demanding deal to free captives in Gaza as Netanyahu is under growing domestic and foreign pressure to strike a ceasefire deal with Hamas.

The record anti-Netanyahu protest comes after Israel recovered the bodies of six captives from Gaza. Many Israelis blame Netanyahu for failure to secure the release of captives held in Gaza, accusing him of putting his own interests ahead of saving the captives' lives.

This as no breakthrough is seen in several rounds of internationally mediated truce talks between Israel and Hamas. In this edition of the Spotlight, Press TV interviews Elijah Magnier, journalist and political analyst from Brussels, and Syed Mohsin Abbas, journalist and political commentator from London to look deeper into the crisis in Israel.
