Israel West Bank incursion
Fifth day of Israel’s violent and large-scale raid on the occupied West Bank. The northern city of Jenin has been the focal point of the military incursion, where Palestinian fighters are putting up stiff resistance. Palestinians detonated several bombs and opened fire on intruding Israeli forces in the Jenin refugee camp. At least two Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks while the regime’s helicopters and drones patrolled the skies above the camp. Earlier, at least three Israeli officers were killed in a Palestinian operation in the southern city of al-Khalil, also known as Hebron. Israel claims it has killed the attacker. The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, has hailed the operation as a natural response to Israel’s heinous crimes in Gaza and the West Bank.
Israel hits another school
The Israeli war machine continues its genocidal campaign in Gaza, claiming more Palestinian lives. In just 24 hours, at least 61 Palestinians were killed across the besieged strip. Among the casualties were four Palestinians who lost their lives when an Israeli air raid hit Safad School, a shelter for displaced Palestinians in Zeitoun neighbourhood of Gaza City. Airstrikes also struck residential areas of Gaza City, killing and injuring several people, including a child. Since the war began on October 7, over 40,700 people have been killed and more than 94,000 wounded. Hunger, malnutrition and lack of medical supplies are also taking a heavy toll on the Gaza population.
Israel blamed for captives deaths
Hamas blames Israel and the United States as the main culprits for the death of six Israeli captives in Gaza. The movement says the responsibility for the death of the Israeli captives lies with the occupying regime, which continues its genocide in Gaza and evades a ceasefire agreement. Hamas also held the US responsible for supporting Israel and being an accomplice in the war. It urged the US president to stop providing financial and military support to the Zionist regime and pressure it to stop the war. Hamas added that some of the six captives had already been approved to be released in the event of a truce deal. Following the discovery of the six bodies, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to "settle the score" with Hamas, stating, "Those who kill hostages do not want an agreement." Around 100 Israelis remain in Hamas captivity. The movement says several of them have been killed in Israeli airstrikes and failed rescue attempts since last October.
