Global South must defeat Western neocolonial plan to legitimize Israeli occupation: Lawyer

The Global South must defeat the Western neocolonial plan to legitimize the Israeli occupation of Palestine, otherwise Dark Age beckons us, says a legal expert from Greece.

Yiannis Rachiotis, a lawyer and president at the Hellenic Union of Progressive Lawyers based in Greece, in an interview with the Press TV website, said the US is not neutral in Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip but the real force behind the Zionist entity.

“It is impossible to distinguish between Israel and the US goals in West Asia. For decades, the so-called “state of Israel” or “Jewish state”, or whatever name they give to their neocolonial plan, is acting as a bridgehead of the West in West Asia and East Mediterranean,” he stated.

Nearly 40,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in the past 312 days, most of them women and children. In the latest massacre on Saturday, over 100 people were killed at a school in Gaza City.

The Israeli regime has also carried out attacks against the leaders of the Axis of Resistance, more recently assassinating Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut.

Rachiotis said the US has “fully undertaken the military equipment and international representation” of the Zionist entity and supports Israel’s genocidal war with “surveillance, information, Special Forces on the battlefield, fire support and deterrence through its huge war fleet.”

“The US and the ruling elite in Tel Aviv, who represent the US interests in the area, believe that nowadays they have the opportunity to defeat any resistance in West Asia,” he told the Press TV website.

“They also seem to believe that they have the capacity to defeat all their geopolitical enemies. Under this imperialistic illusion, they escalate the current wars and tensions all over the world.”

Rachiotis noted that Israel fights the war of the West for the re-colonization of the whole of West Asia and North Africa and the genocide of the Palestinian people is a prerequisite for the establishment of a Western settler colony on Palestinian soil.

“The butchering of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians has transformed Israel into a criminal entity. They have become mud murderers. They will not stop committing war crimes as far as their existence continues.”

“The peoples of the world should stop them. The Global South must defeat the Western neocolonial plan. Otherwise, Dark Age will come,” he underlined.

He hastened to add that Western propaganda tries to present Israel as an “independent entity, with its own rights of existence, self-defense, etc. but it is all a lie.”

“The truth is that Israel is precious for them, possibly the most precious military base of the West in the Global South and they will never stop supporting its existence with all their available means.”
