Iran's Saravi reaches wrestling finals after defeating Egyptian opponent
Iran's Mohammad Hadi Saravi defeats his Egyptian opponent Mohamed Gabr 6-0 in 97-kg category of Greco-Roman wrestling at 2024 Paris Olympics to qualify for finals.
Saravi, who overpowered his strong rival on Tuesday with his skill and speed, is headed to the finals in the 97-kg category of Greco-Roman wrestling.
He won the gold medal in the 97-kg category at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships held in Oslo, Norway.
He also won one of the bronze medals in the 97-kg category at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan
In 2020, Saravi won gold medal at the Asian Wrestling Championships held in New Delhi, India.
Saravi, 26, will now face an opponent from Armenia in the gold medal match in Paris.

Artur Aleksanyan, 32, won the silver medal in the 97-kg category at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. Musa Evloev, 31, from Russia won gold in that competition. Evloev, who is also an Olympic champion, did not qualify for Paris 2024.
Saravi, who gained the bronze is Tokyo, is now looking to win gold. On Tuesday, Aleksanyan wrestled a tough match against Cuban Gabriel Rusillo, beating his opponent 5 to 3, thus qualifying for the finals.
Aleksanyan won the gold medal in the 97-kg category at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia.
The Men's Greco-Roman 97-kg category finals is scheduled at 17:32 GMT on Wednesday.
