Iran, Russia 'resolute' on deepening all-out ties, implementing all deals

Top Iranian and Russian officials have reiterated their firm determination to strengthen bilateral relations and implement the agreements previously reached between the two countries in various fields.

Iranian Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji and Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held talks on issues of common interests in Moscow on Friday.

Owji said Tehran and Moscow have taken steps and signed various agreements to develop relations in various fields and will resolutely continue to take further strides in this regard.

He hailed measures conducted by the two countries' joint economic committee to improve relations and expressed Tehran's readiness to further enhance energy cooperation with Moscow.

Novak, for his part, said Moscow is resolute on strengthening cooperation with Tehran and stressed the importance of implementing bilateral agreements as soon as possible.

Iran and Russia have close relations in all sectors and will continue to foster cooperation, he added.

In a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, Iran's interim President Mohammad Mokhber pointed to strategic and established bilateral relations based on unchanging principles and said complete implementation of all the agreements, including in the areas of trade, transit, and energy, forms the principal agenda of mutual ties.

Iran and Russia has signed a 10-year cooperation deal that was lengthened to 20 years through two five-year extensions. The major deal that is expected to elevate relations between the two allies to a new level.

The two sides has sought to develop bilateral strategic cooperation, which may determine their future relations for the next twenty years.

In Late March, Tehran expressed hope that the long-term strategic cooperation agreement with Russia will be finalized soon.

Russia to invest in new Iranian oil fields: Owji

The petroleum minister also said Russia is investing in the development of seven oil fields inside Iran.

Russia has invested in production of 220,000 barrels of oil in Iran's oil fields, he noted.

He said the two countries have held talks about Russia's investment in new Iranian oil fields.
