Iran’s top human rights official says crimes committed by the Israeli regime in Gaza are a manifestation of human rights principles advocated by the United States.
Kazem Gharibabadi, who serves as head of the Iranian Judiciary’s High Council for Human Rights, said on Tuesday that the US is directly responsible for Israeli crimes in Gaza despite the fact that it has pushed through a United Nations Security Council resolution for reaching a ceasefire in Gaza.
“...assuming that ceasefire will be established in Gaza and attacks are stopped and aid is delivered with the adoption of this resolution, but we shouldn’t forget the crimes of the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza,” Gharibabadi said during a meeting in Tehran.
More than 37,000 people have been killed as a result of over eight months of Israeli aggression on Gaza.
That comes as the regime has extensively relied on US support and supply of weapons for its carnage against the Palestinians.
After vetoing several draft resolutions in the Security Council for truce in Gaza, the United States finally submitted its draft resolution for a three-phase ceasefire in the Palestinian territory.
However, Israel has yet to accept the resolution which was overwhelmingly backed by members of the Security Council late on Monday.
The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has welcomed the resolution.
