US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
More than eight months into the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, the regime continues to pound the besieged Palestinian strip with air and artillery strikes. In one of the strikes, a home in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in northwestern Gaza was bombed, killing at least five Palestinians. In a separate attack, at least six people were killed and several others injured in an airstrike on a home in the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. Meanwhile, intense shelling is targeting areas in Rafah, a city that has become a focal point of the regime’s attacks over the past several weeks. Many rights organizations have already sounded the alarm about a looming human catastrophe in Rafah if the regime does not stop its invasion of the over-crowded city. Gaza health officials say more than 36,700 people have already been killed since early last October. Over 83,500 have also been injured.
Isreal on UN 'list of shame'
In an unprecedented move, the United Nations will add Israel to its list of shame. That’s a blacklist documenting violations against children in war zones. The list is part of a UN report dubbed “Children and Armed Conflict". It includes data confirming Israel’s use of heavy bombs in civilian areas, severe blockades on the Gaza Strip, and attacks on critical infrastructure. The report could be seriously detrimental to Israel, as it can be used and cited across various UN bodies. The list covers six violations. They include killing and maiming, sexual violence, abduction, recruitment and use of children, denial of aid access and attacks on schools and hospitals. The listing was revealed by the Israeli ambassador to the UN after the regime was notified by the world body.
Global rallies for Palestine
A pro-Palestine protest has been held on the sideline of the Climate Change Conference in Germany. The protest took place in the city of Bonn on Friday. The organizers called for the oil and gas companies to be held accountable for their actions in enabling genocide and systemic violence. They also called for a ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the repression of those speaking out in solidarity with the Palestinians. Since the beginning of the Israeli genocide in Gaza, extensive demonstrations have been held worldwide in support of Palestinians.
