Health workers in northern Gaza have recovered more bodies from yet another mass grave at Shifa Hospital, Gaza’s media office reports, saying there were bodies “without heads.”
The government media office said on Wednesday Palestinian medical teams have so far recovered 49 bodies from the mass grave “and efforts are still underway to search for more.”
“We found heads without bodies at Shifa Hospital,” Al Jazeera cited a source at the Gaza Ministry of Health.
Footage released from Shifa hospital showed at least a dozen bodies wrapped in black plastic body bags.
It was the third mass grave that was discovered inside the hospital, according to Motassem Salah, head of the emergency department at Shifa.
Salah said several of the bodies had decomposed.
Around 30 bodies were recovered from two other mass graves in the courtyard of Shifa Hospital last month.
Israeli forces killed hundreds of Palestinians and left their bodies to decompose during their two-week siege of the medical complex in March.
At least seven mass graves have been found in hospitals across the besieged territory since the regime started its brutal campaign on the Gaza Strip in early October.
