The chief commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says the United States has targeted the entire Muslim world, emphasizing that the primary mission of the IRGC's Quds Force is to fight off enemies in the eastern flank of the Mediterranean Sea, and expand the battlefront until enemies are drained.
“The US has targeted the entire Islamic world … it seeks to dominate all Muslims, hijack their cultural identities and seize their wealth. All Muslims are, therefore, in the same boat. If the enemy manages to infiltrate into a Muslim state, it will go on with others. Therefore, the path for aggressors to [advance their] dominance must be blocked,” Major General Hossein Salami said on Tuesday.
He was addressing a ceremony in the capital Tehran in commemoration of the IRGC advisors assassinated in an Israeli attack against the Iranian consulate in Syria on April 1.
Salami added that the IRGC Quds Force has stopped the enemy in the eastern parts of the Mediterranean Sea, and is expanding the front so that enemies will fall apart.
By doing so, he said, "We are protecting our own country’s national security and also the security and dignity of other Muslims.”
“Muslim lands should be a battlefield against aggressors, because we face a common enemy, have a common destiny and share causes. We cannot live apart from each other,” Salami said.
The IRGC chief commander further noted that enemies are nearing their end, stressing that Operation Al-Aqsa Storm pushed Israel to the verge of “brain death,” exposed its vulnerability and demonstrated the fact that the Tel Aviv regime is so shaky.
“The most abhorrent regimes on earth are Israel and the US, which supports it. Through US military and political support and on the West artificial respiration, it (Israel) has been able to extend its existence which is coming to an end,” Salami pointed out.
Salami also warned that the deployment of forces by extra-regional arrogant powers, above all the US, in the Muslim world brings about nothing other than havoc, poverty and massacre.
He went on to describe the large-scale and surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm launched by Gaza-based Palestinian resistance groups on October 7 as proof of the complete failure of the Israeli intelligence service.
Salami highlighted that the extensive missile and drone strikes that the IRGC launched in the early hours of April 14 on the Israeli-occupied territories, dubbed Operation True Promise, dealt a severe blow to Israel and showed the incapability of the anti-missile systems that the United States, Britain, France and even some Arab states have deployed in the West Asia region.
“We are approaching the end of the political life of the regime. The US political geography has declined in the world, and America is morally bankrupt across the globe. The US mistakenly tries to portray itself as the advocate of human rights, democracy and prosperity. But the US has been caught in a downward spiral for years,” the commander underscored.
Operation True Promise inflicted damage on Israeli military bases across the occupied lands.
The retaliatory strikes came after the Israeli attack on April 1 against the Iranian consulate in Damascus, located next to the embassy building in Damascus’s Mezzeh district.
The airstrike killed two senior Iranian military personnel who were on an advisory mission to Syria as well as five of their accompanying officers.
