A senior Palestinian resistance leader says the United States is seeking to find a way to withdraw Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, as the occupying regime’s genocidal war on the besieged enclave has entered the seventh month.
Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement Ziyad al-Nakhaleh made the remarks on Saturday, emphasizing that the Israeli regime has failed to achieve any of its goals despite its indiscriminate bombing of Gaza over the past months.
“We have entered the seventh month of the aggression of the Zionist regime, which has not achieved any of its goals, but is retreating day by day,” he said, stressing that the resistance will definitely defeat Israel.
Nakhaleh went on to say that all those who were threatening to suppress Gaza are now negotiating with the resistance.
“If the resistance groups did not resist, no one would have asked for negotiations. The West is not looking for a solution for the Gaza Strip but for Israel. The US is negotiating to find a way to withdraw Israeli forces from Gaza,” he said.
The Islamic Jihad chief further noted that the resistance has prepared itself for a long-term confrontation if the Israeli regime does not accept the conditions set by the resistance for a ceasefire.
Nakhaleh also stated, “Today, all fronts of the resistance axis have united,” emphasizing that the resistance has taken a big step towards reaching the moment of final victory.
Israel waged the genocidal war on Gaza after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas carried out a historic operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
The Israeli aggression has so far killed at least 33,500 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
The Tel Aviv regime has imposed a “complete siege” on the territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
