Israel has conducted new airstrikes on southern Lebanon, killing one person, amid exchanges of fire between the occupying regime and the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.
According to media reports, an Israeli drone targeted a moving car in Bazouriyeh in Tyre district on Friday, leaving the vehicle engulfed in fire.
The Israeli military later claimed that the victim was the deputy head of Hezbollah's rocket unit.
Ali Abdel Hassan Naim was “one of the leaders for heavy-warhead rocket fire and responsible for conducting and planning attacks” against Israel, the statement said.
In different statements issued on Friday, Hezbollah mourned seven fighters who were killed “on the path to al-Quds.” The movement mentioned Ali Abdel Hassan Naim among them, without elaborating.
Also on Friday, three Israeli missiles targeted the valley of Shebaa, while Israeli artillery shells hit the south of Khiam town in southern Lebanon.
An Israeli missile attack also hit the village of Ayta al-Shaab.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah said it fired a number of Burkan missiles at a command headquarters in Biranit barracks on Friday, “hitting it directly.” According to the statement, the strike came as part of the movement’s pro-Palestine attacks and in response to the Israeli assaults on Syria’s Aleppo and Damascus.
The Lebanese resistance fighters also fired artillery shells at a gathering of Israeli soldiers in Hunin Castle.
Israeli media reports also said that an anti-tank missile was fired from Lebanon and hit Metula in the northern part of the occupied territories.
In the occupied Lebanese Shebaa farms, Hezbollah forces fired a barrage of missiles at Israeli positions, including Zabdin barracks.
Hezbollah and Israel have been exchanging fire since early October, shortly after the occupying regime launched its war on Gaza.
The movement has vowed to keep up its retaliatory operations as long as the regime continues its onslaught on Gaza.
Israel began the war on October 7 after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the usurping entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
Israel has killed more than 32,620 Palestinians and injured nearly 75,100 others.
