The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has called for an international investigation into summary executions carried out by Israeli forces during the regime's ongoing genocidal war against the besieged Gaza Strip.
In a statement on Saturday, the movement said it has gathered testimonies proving that "the Israeli army [has] carried out the summary execution of 137 Palestinian civilians" in the northern Gaza Strip, including in Gaza City, since October 7, when the regime began its brutal attacks on the territory.
The statement added that the executions involved Israeli forces "digging a large pit east of Gaza City and placing dozens of detained citizens in it before executing them and filling up the pit."
Hamas' statement came after earlier on Saturday, Gaza's Health Ministry said dozens of Palestinians were publicly executed this week during an Israeli military attack in the northern city of Jabalia.
On Wednesday, the United Nations Human Rights Office said it had received disturbing reports that Israeli forces had "summarily killed" at least 11 unarmed Palestinians in a "possible war crime" committed in the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City.
The occupying regime started its genocidal war on Gaza following an operation by the territory's resistance groups, dubbed Operation al-Aqsa Storm.
The Palestinian Health Ministry issued a statement on Saturday saying the total death toll from Israel's brutal onslaught has reached 20,258, mostly women and children, with 53,688 people injured.
"More than 200 Gazans killed in 24 hours of Israeli strikes"
Separately on Saturday, the Palestinian Health Ministry issued a statement saying at least 201 Palestinians had been killed and 368 others injured in the Israeli regime's incessant strikes on Gaza over the previous 24 hours.
The report belied Israeli military's claim that it ensures its "strikes against military targets comply with the provisions of international law."
Despite that claim, almost half of the bombs that have been used by the Israeli regime in its onslaught on the besieged territory have reportedly been unguided "dumb" bombs, which are used with the intention of conducting indiscriminate attacks on civilians.
Besides its incessant attacks against Gaza, Israel has cut off the flow of basic supplies such as water, electricity, medicines, and fuel into one of the world's most densely-populated territories that houses over two million Palestinians.
