The Elders, a group of independent global leaders working for peace, justice, human rights and a sustainable planet, have penned a letter calling on Israel to stop the murder of Palestinians.
The group was founded by Nelson Mandela in 2007 and includes the former UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon.
As soon as a seven-day pause ended, the Israeli killing machine continued its carnage and within a little over 24 hours it managed to murder over 700 Palestinians.
The rate at which Palestinians were being murdered, however, has come into focus. How could Israel kill so many Palestinians and how did it know what to target?
The information on targets came from what is now known as the Gospel.
It has been revealed that Israel uses an AI (Artificial Intelligence) program named 'Gospel' to select bombing targets in Gaza.
I think a good year to look at, to understand its beginning, with relation to Gaza is 2019, when the chief of staff (of the IDF) introduced this new division in the military called the targets division.
The idea was to bring together hundreds of soldiers and basically start to develop these AI algorithms and automated software to accelerate the target creation for strikes with life and death consequences in Gaza.
Yuval Abraham, Israeli Journalist
This was revealed by the former IDF Chief of Staff, Aviv Kohavi, in an interview before the war.
The gospel is a machine that collects and collates vast amounts of data more effectively than any human, and translates it into targets for attack.
To put that into perspective, in the past, we would produce 50 targets in Gaza per year. Now this machine produces 100 targets in a single day, with 50% of that being attacked.
Former IDF Chief of Staff, Aviv Kohavi
This may explain why Israel has bragged about round the clock airstrikes and how it targeted 600 Hamas targets in a period of 24 hours, for example.
However, the end result is a complete failure as the data driven factory has resulted in massive Palestinian casualties.
We will pursue Hamas wherever Hamas is hiding; in the north, and in the south.
Israeli Army Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari
The Israeli military spokesperson's statements made one thing clear, Israel's warning for Palestinians to evacuate to the south, where they were supposed to be safe, was an empty promise since Palestinians are also being targeted in the south.
Israel is trying to put on a show of caring for lives with a repeated but false issuance of warnings.
Israel has started using a new grid system which breaks Gaza down into more than 600 blocks. It can be accessed through a QR code on leaflets and social media posts.
But how are Palestinians, who don't have anything except the clothes they are wearing, going to retrieve and follow these maps?
What is becoming clearer by the day is that Israel crammed the Palestinians into the southern part of the Gaza Strip with the intention of pushing them into Egypt.
Egypt believes that Israel is attempting to push the Palestinian population of Gaza into the Sinai; however, the US has said that is definitely not the intention.
Under no circumstances will the US permit the forced relocation of Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank settlements of Gaza or the redrawing of the borders of Gaza.
US Vice President, Kamala Harris
Even Israel, which has been quiet on this issue, issued a statement saying that it does not have the intention to forcibly move or remove Palestinians.
In the meantime, the Israeli army has divided the Gaza Strip into sections. This is while the fake border with the occupied territories was being pushed further into the Gaza Strip, decreasing the landmass of Gaza.
This may indicate Israel's desire for creating the so called Buffer Zone, which may then lead to the presence of international forces.
Just as Israel is cornering innocent Palestinians in the southern Gaza Strip, the US is cornering itself with its unconditional support for Israel.
This unfettered support of Tel Aviv may, ultimately, pose a challenge for most of Biden's presidential aspirations.
