Israel genocidal war on Gaza

In the Gaza Strip, Palestinians are seeing no respite from Israeli bombings as the regime’s deadly war on the besieged territory enters Day 18. In its latest raid, Israel bombarded the al-Shati refugee camp in the north of the territory. The Gaza Health Ministry said dozens of people, including women and children, were killed or injured. Medical sources say more than 50 others, including children, were killed in airstrikes on residential building in the cities of Khan Yunis and Rafah in southern Gaza. Since Israel launched its onslaught on the strip on October 7, more than 5,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 15,000 injured. The United Nations' rights chief has called for an immediate ceasefire for aid delivery to Gaza. Israel has also tightened its 17-year siege on the territory, cutting off supplies of water, electricity, fuel, medicines and food.

Hamas releases more captives

The Gaza-based Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, has released two more captives taken from Israel following Operation al-Aqsa Storm. The spokesman for Hamas’ military wing, al-Qassam Brigades, said the two elderly Israeli women were released on humanitarian grounds following mediation by Egypt. They were taken to the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt. Abu Ubaida, the spokesman for al-Qassam Brigades, said Israel had previously refused to take delivery of the captives. He said the development took place even though Israel repeatedly violated an agreement to guarantee the safety of the captives. Hamas also released an American mother and daughter on Friday. Palestinian resistance fighters took around 250 captives from Israel on October 7. They say some of the captives have been killed in Israeli airstrikes.

Pro-Palestine rallies

Pro-Palestine demonstrators continue across the globe to voice solidarity with Gazans who have been under Israel's brutal onslaught for seventeen days. Dozens of students in the Indian capital New Delhi marched toward the Israeli embassy calling for an end to bloodletting of Palestinian citizens. Scuffles broke out before the police detained a number of protesters. In other countries, demonstrators hit the streets to call for an end to Israel’s brutal attacks and for sending humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip. Thousands of protesters in Paris, Berlin, Stockholm, Copenhagen and other European capitals also demonstrated over the weekend to condemn the Israeli carnage. They criticized international bodies for failing to act before the attacks left more than 5,000 Palestinians dead mostly women and children.
