Rains caused flooding in parts of Greece on Wednesday, still reeling from a previous storm that claimed 16 lives.
In the coastal town of Volos, in the region of Thessaly, Storm Elias buried streets under water.
The fire department responded to dozens of calls to drain homes in mainland Greece and on the island of Evia.
Earlier this month Thessaly, including Volos, was battered by Storm Daniel, which killed 16 people after floods swept through cities and villages.
Meteorologists said the new front, which arrived on Monday, was expected to remain in the country for the next two days, bringing heavy rain and hail, and authorities sent emergency warnings to the public to restrict movements.
