US Republicans in the House of Representatives have passed a bill to raise the national borrowing limit. The bill is dubbed- the Limit, Save, Grow Act- and cleared the chamber by a narrow margin of 217 to 215 Republican votes.
That marked a victory for Speaker McCarthy after days of grueling negotiations that put deep divisions within his party colleagues. But the bill is expected to not become law as it is opposed by Democrats controlling the Senate and the White House.
