International Quds Day marked in In Kashmir

Scores of people, young and old, marched the streets in different parts of Indian-administered Kashmir, holding banners and placards in favor of oppressed Muslims, marking International Quds Day in solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposing the Israeli’s illegal occupation of all Palestinian lands.

Each year, International Quds Day is marked on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, as a reminder to the Muslim World about the continued illegal occupation of the Palestinian lands by the Israeli regime.

This year, the Al-Quds rallies in Kashmir witnessed a large number of women participation and it is seen as a success of the Islamic Awakening program initiated by Iran.

Organizers of the Quds Day rallies say: 'They intend to make this campaign a success.'

Scholars here believe that International Quds Day holds great significance as it gives all Muslims a chance to unite and speak for a cause that is equally important for the entire Muslim Community around the world.

The commemoration of Quds Day each year on the last Friday of Ramadan was started some 40 years ago by Iran as an affirmation of the Muslim solidarity with the people of Palestine in their struggle for the liberation of Quds.

Each year, people in Kashmir hold rallies on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan to show they stand by Palestinians. They also use social media platforms to express their support and denounce the Israeli crackdown as well as urge Muslims around the globe to stay united in the face of the regime’s aggression against the people of Palestine.
