Liz Truss, Britain's Prime Minister

Queen Elizabeth has officially appointed Liz Truss as the UK’s new prime minister, asking her to form a new government. Truss has vowed to rebuild the UK and address issues of economy, energy, and health system while many have already questioned her leadership abilities, especially when it comes to foreign policy.

This edition of the Spotlight, hosting Hafsa Kara-Mustapha, journalist and political commentator from London and Mahmoud Refaat, president of the European Institute for International Law and International Relations from Paris looks at what Truss’s approaches will be towards the Israeli-Palestinian issue, Ukraine conflict, the UK’s relationships with the Persian Gulf countries concerning arms sales to Saudi Arabia, human rights issues, and finally Iran and the JCPOA revival talks.
