Medical Device Industry

Iran has made giant strides in its medical device sector. One of the most overlooked aspects of this industry is the laboratory device and sciences.

Nearly 70% of all disease diagnoses are in fact made by the laboratory community.

These companies generate roughly 30% of revenues in the medical device market.

Figures from the Ministry of Health show that over 2,000 types of medical devices are domestically produced.

Recently a major medical lab device show was held in the capital city of Tehran where some 170 companies and research-based firms participated in the event showcasing their latest services and technology.

Out of the 1000 active medical device manufactured in Iran, nearly 230 of them are knowledge-based firms.

Moreover, Ministry data reveals, that over half of the 500,000 medical devices made globally have Iranian versions, reducing imports by 10%.
