Israel Golan occupation

Iran’s UN envoy slams Israel’s aggression against Syria in particular by using civil aircraft as cover. In an address to the UN Security Council, Majid Takhtravanchi says all uninvited foreign forces in Syria must leave the country immediately and without further delay. He also calls on the council to condemn a recent Israeli cabinet meeting in Syria’s Golan Heights and compel Tel Aviv to end its occupation of the Syrian territory. Similarly the Syrian UN envoy also blasts Israel for its actions in the occupied Golan Heights.

“No threat to others”

Several months into the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan the group says it seeks cooperation on an equal footing with all countries around the world. Speaking to Iran’s Sahar Afghanistan TV, the Taliban Deputy spokesman says the group has improved security in the country since returning to power in mid-August. Inamullah Samangani gives assurances that no threat will be posed to other countries from Afghanistan. The official however warns against foreign interference in the internal affairs of Afghanistan. Samangani points to neighboring Iran saying that the Taliban are working to build a good relationship with the Islamic Republic.

North Korea ballistic missiles

North Korea fires what appears to be two ballistic missiles into the sea off its east coast. That’s according to South Korea's military. The suspected launch would be the sixth round of missile tests this month. A Japanese government source says the missiles landed outside of Japan's exclusive economic zone. Nuclear-armed North Korea has recently said it will bolster its defenses against the United States and consider resuming all temporally-suspended activities. The statement is regarded as a reference to a self-imposed moratorium on tests of nuclear weapons and long-range intercontinental ballistic missiles. North Korea has not launched such missiles or tested nuclear weapons since 2017.
