Biden approval rating among American youths falls below 50 percent: Poll

US President Joe Biden

US President Joe Biden’s approval rating among the country’s young generation has dipped below 50 percent, a new survey revealed.

According to a Harvard Youth Poll, only 46 percent of Americans ages 18 to 29 years old are satisfied with Biden’s performance, which shows a 13 percent drop from the previous poll.

This comes as the Democratic president’s overall approval rating has also hit a new low, despite the administration’s effort to engage in damage control less than a year into office.

Last week, the result of an NPR/Marist poll showed that only 42 percent of the American adults approve of Biden’s job performance in office, the lowest rating he has received since his inauguration in January.

The collapse in Biden’s approval rating follows the US chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan in August, which lead to the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul.

Moreover, his administration is under pressure for its economic policies.

The US is already grappling with rising food and gas prices.

Currently, over three-quarters of Americans - 77 percent - say inflation is affecting their lives and a clear majority - 57 percent – blame Biden, according to a recent Yahoo News/YouGov poll.

Since last October, overall prices have risen 6.2 percent amid supply-chain bottlenecks and sky-high demands for goods — the fastest yearly pace in over 30 years.
