Four people were killed and 19 injured when gales hit Istanbul on Monday (November 29).
The Istanbul Governor's office said one of the four dead was a foreign national and three of the injured were critical.
Winds of up to 130 km (81 miles) per hour hit the city according to Turkey's Meteorology General Directorate (MGM). The wind ripped off roofs and tore down signboards as rising seas flooded streets and waves crashed along the shores of the Bosphorus.
Turkey's flag-carrier Turkish Airlines reported disruptions to its flight schedule, while the Bosphorus was later closed to shipping.
