Britain’s Prince Andrew is reportedly a "person of interest" in an ongoing investigation into sex trafficking related to disgraced financier Jeffery Epstein, who died in prison.
The investigators are trying tp interview Duke of York as part of their probe into Epstein, Reuters said in a report citing an anonymous source familiar with the US inquiry.
"He doesn't seem to want to talk to us," said the source.
Andrew has been accused of of sexually abusing a minor in a lawsuit filed in August by Epstein victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre.
I am holding Prince Andrew accountable for what he did to me. The powerful and the rich are not exempt from being held responsible for their actions," Giuffre said. "I hope that other victims will see that it is possible not to live in silence and fear, but one can reclaim her life by speaking out and demanding justice.”
Andrew has previously defended his friendship with Epstein, who was said to have have committed suicide in a US jail in 2019.
The 59-year-old prince sexually assaulted Virginia Giuffre, who claimed was sex-trafficked by Epstein to him when she was 17 years old.
Andrew is also under pressure to shed more light on the nature and extent of Epstein’s relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell, the daughter of the disgraced media mogul, Robert Maxwell.
Ghislaine Maxwell – who is a British citizen – is accused of acting as a pimp for Epstein by procuring underage girls for his sexual gratification.
