The remnants of Saudi cluster bombs are another threat to the lives of millions of Yemenis, which will remain even after the Saudi war.
According to Yemen's Mine Action Center, the number of victims of the remnants of Saudi cluster bombs has reached 10 thousand in the period between July 2020 and July 2021.
The head of Yemen's Mine Action center said most of the victims were children as the remnants of cluster bombs could be found in farms or streets and children could think they are toys.
In a report, the Cluster Munition Monitor accused the Saudi-led coalition of using cluster bombs in Yemen. Over the past years, Saudi Arabia has used internationally prohibited weapons including American bombs to target residential areas across the war-ravaged country.
As the war goes on, Yemenis continue bearing the brunt of Saudi cluster munitions’ indiscriminate devastation. People here say the Saudi war and blockade have turned their lives into a real tragedy. However, the UN turns a blind eye to such violations.
