Yemeni army forces, allies achieve fresh territorial gains in Bayda

This picture released by the media bureau of Yemen’s Operations Command Center on July 15, 2021 shows Yemeni armed forces during Operation Nasr al-Mobin (Manifest Victory) in the central province of al-Bayda.

Yemeni army forces, backed by allied fighters from Popular Committees, have made more territorial gains in the country’s central province of al-Bayda as they continue their joint operations to push members of al-Qaeda and Daesh Takfiri terrorists out of their strongholds there.

Local media outlets, citing informed sources who requested anonymity, reported that Yemeni soldiers and their allies have liberated large swathes of the Nati district, and are now on the outskirts of the Bayhan district in the southern province of Shabwah.

Meanwhile, Hussein al-Ezzi, the deputy foreign minister of Yemen's National Salvation Government, has pointed to the rapid advance of Yemeni forces in the Na'man and al-Bayda districts, stressing that many weapons and military hardware have been recovered from Saudi-backed militants.

Ezzi added that details of the huge spoils of war will be announced later.

Mahdi al-Mashat, head of Yemen's Supreme Political Council, also praised qualitative victories achieved by Yemeni army troops and fighters from Popular Committees in various battlefields and fronts.

He said triumphs that Yemeni forces are gaining are a source of pride for the Yemeni nation.

Mashat stressed that successive victories notched up against Saudi-led coalition forces and their mercenaries will be written down in history, and will remain a beacon for generations to come.

He said the resilience of Yemeni fighters on various fronts has thwarted the Saudi-led coalition’s plots aimed at undermining the unity, security and stability of Yemen.

“The signs of ultimate victory are on the horizon, thanks to the massive sacrifices that Yemeni forces are making in defense of the homeland,” Mashat said.

Saudi Arabia, backed by the US and regional allies, launched the devastating war on Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi back to power and crushing the popular Ansarullah resistance movement.

Yemeni armed forces and allied Popular Committees have, however, gone from strength to strength against the Saudi-led invaders, and left Riyadh and its allies bogged down in the country.

The Saudi war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead, and displaced millions more. The war has also destroyed Yemen's infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases across the Arab country.
