Belarusian plane diversion to Putin

The West has condemned Belarus for diverting a passenger plane’s flight path traveling between two EU capitals and arresting a dissident onboard.

Belarus has denied the accusations, saying the airliner was ordered to land over a security threat. Is the West trying to make a case against Belarus and its main ally, Russia?
