After the Eid al-Fitr prayers, Yemenis came together outside the UN office in Yemen's capital Sana'a to restate their demands of the international community to take real measures against the Saudi blockade on Yemen.
Protesters slammed Saudi Arabia for its continued detention of oil vessels that has left their country in a desperate struggle to survive amid a harsh shortage of fuel. They said Riyadh has to release their tankers to prove its good intentions for moving towards a political solution.
Saudi Arabia and its allies imposed an all-out blockade on Yemen since the beginning of the war in March 2015, depriving millions of Yemenis of their basic needs.
The United Nations described the situation in the war-torn country as the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
Yemenis believe that the United Nations bears responsibility for their suffering as it provides a political cover-up for Riyadh and its allies. They say the international community must break its silence and pressure Saudi Arabia to lift the siege on their country.
