Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) forces have destroyed a team of terrorists in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

In a statement released on Saturday, the IRGC Ground Force’s Quds Base announced that the terrorist team had entered the region to carry out acts of terror and was dismantled earlier in the day during intelligence operations.

It added that three members of the team were killed during the clashes.

The IRGC added that a large cache of weapons and ammunition were also confiscated during the operation.

This came just two days after the IRGC Ground Force’s Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada Base announced that its fighters had clashed with elements of a terrorist team in Iran’s western province of Kordestan bordering Iraq, killing two of them.

Sistan and Baluchestan – which borders Pakistan -- has seen several terror attacks targeting both civilians and security forces over the past years.

Iranian forces have repeatedly dismantled terror groups in the province, foiling their planned attacks and confiscating weapons and ammunition in the course of their security operations.
