Ambassadors celebrate Nowruz at Iran’s Foreign Ministry

Nowruz is the most widely celebrated holiday in the Islamic Republic of Iran. It means “New Day” and marks the first day of spring. The holiday, which usually falls on or around March 21, is widely celebrated across the West and Central Asia.

Iran’s foreign ministry invited the envoys of the Nowruz region countries to mark the occasion. Held in the presence of ambassadors, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif congratulated the arrival of a spring. He also stressed that the pandemic in the past year taught everyone a lesson.

The message of Nowruz which is revival and a new life was also projected on a historic building inside the ministry complex via video mapping.

Over three hundred million people celebrate Nowruz across the globe. In Iran it is the most important holiday which marks the beginning of the New Year. Nowruz has been celebrated in Iran for over 3,000 years.
