Woman arrested in US state of Texas over not wearing mask, Bodycam footage shows

A woman has been arrested in the US state of Texas over not wearing a mask inside a bank after a statewide mask mandate was officially lifted for public areas.

Texas rushed to lift the mask mandate and open businesses 100 percent but that does not necessarily apply to private businesses, which are still allowed to require masks if they see fit.

The 65-year-old Terry White was, therefore, charged with resisting arrest and criminal trespass.

“Ma’am we’re going to do this the easy way or the hard way,” the officer reportedly told White, according to the body camera footage, obtained by KTRK, and released later.

“What are you going to do, arrest me?” she replied, to which the officer said: “Yes, for intruding on premises.”

The officer then escorted white out of the bank as she was yelling: “Wow, not wearing a mask people! This is what they do to you.”

Texas unilateral lifting of the mask mandate triggered backlash from President Joe Biden, calling it “neanderthal thinking.”

The Biden administration recently managed to release a coronavirus relief bill to the public backed by both chambers of Congress.

President Biden tried to craft a bipartisan bill. But Republicans told him, in no uncertain terms, that they weren’t willing to go big. They said they would only support a small relief package that would have been an ineffective box checking exercise. That’s what happened.

“It’s one thing to pass the American Rescue Plan. It’s going to be another thing to implement it. It’s going to require fastidious oversight to make sure there is no waste or fraud and the law does what it’s designed to do,” Biden said at a Rose Garden event Friday. “We have to get this right. Details matter. Because we have to continue to build confidence in the American people that their government can function for them and deliver.”

The administration is putting a lot of efforts into promoting the package, which contains a $1,400 stimulus payment, across the country.

The so-called “Help is Here” tour will involve travels by First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamela Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, as well as the president himself.

BREAKING: Joe Biden is crushing this presidency and Republicans are rightly terrified.

While we're getting vaccines, COVID relief, Merrick Garland, and compassionate leadership—they're talking Dr. Seuss, White House dogs, and dementia.

When good people vote, we all win.

Biden will host an event at the White House next week on implementation of the rescue plan before traveling to Pennsylvania and Georgia.

Buttigieg will travel to Maryland, Jill Biden to to New Jersey and New Hampshire while Harris is scheduled to visit   Nevada and Colorado.

The latest effort by the Biden administration was met with harsh criticism from Republicans in Congress, who are expected to counter the popularity of the relief bill now that it has become law.
